Young workers in Canberra, supported by unions, will protest tomorrow at the serious and widespread exploitation taking place within the Grill’d franchise.

Details

Location:        Meet at corner of Bunda St & Scotts Crossing, Civic

Time:               11:30am – 12pm

Date:               Thurs 12 November 2019

The Grill’d fast food franchise has been exposed in recent times as engaging in unethical and exploitative practices.

Young workers, including former Grill’d workers will be supported by the Young Workers Centre, UnionsACT and other unions to protest against this unfair, unethical and illegal corporate behaviour.

The following quotes are attributable to Alex White, Secretary of UnionsACT:

“Grill’d has been consistently exposed as a business that rips off young workers.

“Whether it’s scam traineeships or the use of Workchoices-era zombie agreements, these unethical and exploitative practices must stop.

“Tomorrow, young workers will be taking a stand against dodgy wages, and UnionsACT is proud to support their fight for fairness.”

UnionsACT acknowledges that it works on the land of the Ngunnawal people, and we pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging.

Authorised A White for UnionsACT, 11 London Circuit, Canberra.
